Dusk to Dawn Scheduling

UPDATED

Power Control Modules support using Dawn and Dusk as starting or ending times on the schedule. These times adjust throughout the year as sunrise and sunset times shift.

Midnight Boundary

Schedules cannot cross the midnight boundary. This is because the schedule is designed to be flexibly set to group days such as Weekday/Weekend. If you want a schedule to run from Dusk to Dawn on Weekdays only, should the relay turn on Friday at Dusk and still be running at Dawn on Saturday, even though that’s a weekend? To solve this problem, we do not allow the schedule to cross the midnight boundary- you would need to set an evening schedule and a morning schedule. This gives added customization- some customers may wish to have the relay running Saturday morning, others may not.

Two Schedules

The solution to the “Midnight Boundary Problem” is to build two schedules. One that runs from Dusk to 11:59PM, and a second that runs from Midnight to Dawn.

Note: If a relay is scheduled to be ON until 11:59, and also scheduled to be ON again starting at midnight, it will remain on between 11:59 and midnight without turning off.
