How do I turn OFF cooling?

On your Pelican App's navigate to a thermostat's climate control screen that you want to turn Cooling Off for.

Setting the System

By changing the thermostat’s System to OFF or HEAT, cooling will not run unless it is turned back on manually or your schedule places it back into cooling.

Adjust the Cool Set Point

By setting the cool set-point higher than the room temperature, the thermostat will turn OFF cooling until the room temperature raises above the new cool set-point.

Cooling will not run unless the room temperature rises above the new set point or the cool set point is manually or your schedule places it back to a set point below the room temperature..

How do I turn ON cooling?

On your Pelican App's navigate to a thermostat's climate control screen that you want to turn Cooling On for.

Setting the Auto or Cool

On a room thermostat’s climate control page you will see a button labeled System. Setting System to COOL or AUTO provides you with a cool set-point slider which can be adjusted to your desired room temperature.

For cooling to turn ON make sure your cool set-point is below your room temperature.

When I adjust one of my set points, why does it automatically adjust the other?

This is called a dead-band.

A dead-band prevents a thermostat from accidentally fighting itself, IE: If, after a cooling cycle, the room temperature drops below the heat set-point, you don’t want your thermostat to then turn on the heat, heat up the space above the cool set-point, then re-enable cooling and start battling itself. This is both uncomfortable and energy inefficient.

Pelican auto enforces a 3°F heat and cool set-point dead-band, and, as an extra precaution, the thermostat will auto-adjusts this dead-band to up to 5°F to further prevent thermostat fighting.
