What does waiting mean?

Waiting indicates that the room is waiting on another Pelican controller to allow it to begin a heating, cooling, or fan cycle. This is a normal state for a thermostat, it will automatically change out of waiting when allowed to begin its cycle.

Common Reasons to see Waiting:

  1. Pelican Zone Thermostats requesting heating, cooling, or a fan circulation cycles from a Pelican multi-zone air handler controller will be placed in Waiting until the cycle they are requesting becomes active.
  2. Pelican Water-Source Heat Pump (WSHP) thermostats interlocked with a Pelican condensing water-loop pump controller, will be placed in Waiting until the pump controller verifies water flow is active.
