How do I configure a Pelican thermostat to control a floating zone damper actuator?

This configuration is only available if there is a Z8 or Z24 part of your Pelican Solution. It is used when a thermostat is floating a zone damper that is ducted to a multi-zone air handler.

This configuration can be found in the Pelican Web-App > Admin > Thermostat Configuration > ‘select any thermostat‘ > Damper Settings > Damper Type set to Floating

Floating Damper Type configuration options and their meaning:

Damper Type: Floating – the thermostat will use (Y) to open the zone damper and (Y2) to close the zone damper.

Actuator Travel Time: Sets in the thermostat how long it takes for the damper to go from fully closed to fully open. It is important to set this correctly since this timer is used by the thermostat to place the damper in the correct position. We recommend using a hand-held timer to time the actual travel time of the damper.

Ventilation Damper Position: Sets the damper position during a ventilation cycle.

Maximum Damper PositionSets the damper position during a heating, cooling, and reheat cycle.
