How do I configure a Pelican thermostat to control a hot water, steam, or chilled water floating actuator?

This configuration is only settable by Pelican Technical Support.

Floating Actuator is a configuration used to configured a Pelican thermostat to float a Hot Water, Steam, and/or Chilled water valve actuator.

This configuration can be found in the Pelican Web-App > Admin > Thermostat Configuration > ‘select any thermostat‘ > Thermostat Operation > Floating Valve.

Configuration options and their meaning:

None (default): The thermostat is not configured to control a floating valve.

Cool Only: The thermostat will use (Y) to open a chilled water valve and (Y2) to close a chilled water valve.

Heat Only: The thermostat will use (W) to open the hot water or steam valve and (W2) to close the hot water or steam valve.

Heat & Cool: The thermostat will use (Y) to open the chilled water valve and (Y2) to close the chilled water valve. It will also use (W) to open the hot water or steam valve and (W2) to close the hot water or steam valve.

Note: The control signal de-energizes to keep floating actuators from overheating. The default travel time is 95 seconds. This can be adjusted by Pelican technical support through a hidden configuration setting.
