What does a heat failure notification mean?
A heating failure notification is generate if both of the below happen:
- The room temperature is not trending towards the heat set point for at least an hour.
- And the difference between the heat set point and current room temperature is more than the Thermostat Notification Sensitivity setting.
Note: Pelican works hard to generate notifications related to true mechanical issues. This notification indicates that the air handler that supplies hot air into this room is unable to heat the room. This is NOT a thermostat failure notification or a Pelican related sequencing issue. This is directly correlated with the thermostat enabling heating and the room NOT heating.
