What does a cool failure notification mean?

A cooling failure notification is generate if both of the below happen:

  • The room temperature is not trending towards the cool set point for at least an hour.
  • And the difference between the cool set point and current room temperature is more than the Thermostat Notification Sensitivity setting.

Note: Pelican works hard to generate notifications related to true mechanical issues. This notification indicates that the air handler that supplies cold air into this room is unable to cool the room. This is NOT a thermostat failure notification or a Pelican related sequencing issue. This is directly correlated with the thermostat enabling cooling and the room NOT cooling.
